Noone sits on a cat. No cat, unless comatose, would allow that to happen. You'd get within an inch, and find razor sharp claws fastened into your butt.

Sorry, AnneMarie, but I've seen it happen and it wasn't a dainty lady (I mean the sittee, not the sitton)
![]() I must admit the cat was flattened as the lady of course got a heart attack of the sound the cat made... (cat didn't suffer any injuries)

The local cat has taken to greeting me and Stuart when we go to the bike sheds in the evening. Unfortunately, he doesn't like bikes. Fortunately he has faster reactions than me as I dropped my bag tonight when he was investigating my shins as I was looking for my keys! He's a lovely cat, although I've seen him hunting and I know he's not really cute and vulnerable, it's all an act, so I was more than a little bit guilty!

Not with our cats, actually. They're rather more civilised! They'd get up and move - under protest.

In other words: the cats are as civilised as they want Lanen to know?

Heh - yeah, Zorro, I know, wretched cat. But you STILL can't sit on my shoulder while I'm typing! and yes, Hans, that's about the size of it. And P'ter, I have no control whatsoever over Zorro's posts. Sigh.
Back to work - catch you all later!

Zorro, this is Cisco borrowing his mom's puter. I ALWAYS have to help her write. She's writing about cats a lot now so obviously she needs a technical consultant. Cisco

Meow! (translation: It strikes me that the fundamental dichotomy of existence is beautifully summed up in Hamlet's "to be or not to be" monologue, but that Shakespeare missed out a few important aspects of the argument. If he re-cast it as "To be fed or not to be fed, there is no question..." he'd have saved himself a lot of trouble and all those dead bodies littered around the stage at the end.) Zorro, too lazy to post hiimself so he's dictating...
And SJS, please note P'ter's use of the semicolon is a fine example of how NOT to use it! ![]()

Humans who sit on cats can get a butt full of claws if they're not careful! Or a flat cat. I have black cats so I have red seating.

AnnMarie,
If you'd seen our weather this weekend you might reconsider! Grey, raining/snowing/sleeting, cold, miserable... at least, it didn't encourage me to get up and do any of those chores! Thanks for the offer though. and I have to admit, on those few occasions when the sun actually breaks through, it's a lovely place to live. ![]()

Actually, AnnMarie, you'd find Scotland quite tame! Though as I said - today the sun is bright in a clear blue sky, just a few fluffy clouds for contrast, it's 28 degrees C in our sunroom and all is right with the world! Except that I have to get more writing done and I shouldn't be online. Never mind, just a brief interlude!
