Default Rojer/Asia

Did it ever spell out exactly how related the two were? I forgot. I recall they're cousins, just not to what degree. But close enough cousins that the cousin thing was remarked upon.

For some reason, I want to think she's the grandchild of one of Jeff's brothers. Second cousin?

I think you might be right, though it's been a while since I read the book...

Sounds like something we need to find out before the Quest!

Actually she is the daughter of Allison Eagles, whom I believe is the daughter of Rakella or Besseva Eagles. So either way I think second cousin is probably correct...these inter-familial marriages can be quite confusing at times but it runs rampant throughout this families history.

Asia and Rojer are a most amusing couple to watch interact.
Almost reminiscent of the way Rowan and Jeff have their little banter. And I must admit that Rojer does have some of his grandfather's endearing (or annoying depending on who you ask) charm

Incestuously yours,

MMV

All I remember as a comment regarding those two is Afra commenting "and the cousinship is not a detriment" so I would assume at least a second, probably a third, cousin.

sorry granath, but it was Jeff raven (during Lyon's Pride) who commented to Thian that the level of cousinship was not a detriment, when Thian suggested Rojer be moved to replace Zara who was likely to be shipped off for research instead of Prime work. though it might be possible of repeats during the book, just noticed that one near the end.

Isthia's sisters great-grandchild. wikipedia calls that third cousin. (had to look) if Asia is same generation as Rojer.

Oops, thanks for the correction (although Anne's made worse blunders, such as having the Rowan borrow from Isthia "a granddaughter's" shoes on Deneb while she was nursing her youngest child, and also supposedly insisted on "freshening", i.e. getting pregnant every year so that the maximum age difference between the oldest and youngest should have been no more than about twenty years...).

Yes, they're the same generation, since they're about the same age and Rojer is Isthia's great-grandson (Isthia, Jeff, Damia, Rojer)

If they weren't the same generation, I think that would make them second-cousins-once-removed.
