Well, the streetname says it must be in an English speaking country.

So... in the United Kingdom.

EDITH!

I'm surprised at you (or don't you know the derivation of the name!)

I'm NOT doing this one, not in protest but cos I know it

I didn't until I wikipedia'd it. I was thinking more about the Discworld Grope Alley when I took the photo. Mind you, if you know the street you'll know that it is Grope Lane- I think you can touch both sides of the road at once in places!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grope_Lane

Its very rude I'm afraid
though I'm afraid I thought "Ankh Morpork!" when I saw it!

I have to say that I think my photo's a bit clearer!

Ooh good! I got very excited the other day- I had a parcel from the US- it was a textbook though.

Can I go back to the bottom of the list again?

It can be stated in a way that's not too rude (much less rude than the full name of the street!).

"Grope Lane" was the traditional lane of a street where prostitutes hung out.

And probably much less offensive at the time. Always place such names or other lingual aspects in the time they belong; I've many examples like it from old documents I have read in relation to my genealogical and historical researches.

One example, even in the 19th century it was totally excepted to say that you needed to go "take a piss" (in Dutch) even in the highest circles while it is considered rude nowadays.
