Red face Re: dolphins and other smart animals on Pern

I know this is an old tipic but I am trying to find some infomation and book is to hand just atm can't read it. I recall reading Paul Benden and his second in command taking aobut the differents between water and space. For his seconde had learn Dolphin but was farad of I think being in a suit in water to use that commiseration ability.

Can anyone give m a hand on this. Alos Jim T. learn some of it during the CoPB And kne the bell call.

Not sure what is being asked about, but in The Dolphins' Bell the dolphins are used to ferry cocooned goods, save folks who fell in the water, had inter-pod contest as to which pod could haul the most weight (which means they had to have a way to judge weight), escorted and pulled smaller craft, they set up sea lanes with the help of the dolphineers, and a bit more.

Peri Cervantes, an apprentice seaman on Jim Tillek's ship had some training with the dolphins and had taken care of the contact needed between the ship and the dolphins during the crossing. Theo and Jim talk about the Dunkirk Crossing where half an army of soldiers were pinned down on a beach but able to cross from Germany to England thanks to the local small crafts that ferried them across the channel.

I recall reading in Dragonsdawn DD

That Zi had learn how to speak dolphin but was afraid being in the water or the suit and its, comparing a dolphineer wet suit and a space suit, on the way to Pern He and Paul Benden where taking on a watch they share together. Some about you better not feel space be claustrophobic about water.

Chronicles of Pern: The Dolphins' Bell
Jim Tillek, had learn alot of speak of dolphins, and they loved games, they made a game out hulling the cocooned goods the single one as how much weight hulled.
