My mother had the idea of Shia Lebouf for Piemer? I was thinking about it and it might work? Just an idea.... the only one at the moment I really would like to see just because thats how I imagined it is Kiera Knightley as Lessa... I'm not sure why, at least she has the right look!

There are so many people I can fit to different faces, but I can't seem to fit the names with the faces, to fit with the characters? if you know what I mean....

Mathew Mcfayden played Mr. Darcy with Kiera Knightley in Pride and Prejudice, and James Mccavoy played Mr. Tumnus in the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Tom Delefroy in Becoming Jane, The main man in Penelope, the main man in Atonement..... and so on and so forth.... just some ideas though...
I think LeBouf is now too old for Piemur, unfortunately.

You're probably right about that, now. I haven't seem him in anything for a while, but I looked him up and he's 21!

He could probably play Piemur in a 3rd movie, but in a first movie there would be no Piemur, and in a second movie, if Piemur appeared at all, they would need a boy who had not hit puberty, yet.

Kiera Knightley would be an interesting choice for Lessa. If they could make the movie in the next year or two, she would be close enough to the right age (as she is 22/23 now, and Lessa was 21 in the first book). For some reason, I thought KK was in her later 20's.

How about Lindsay Lohan for Kylara? She certainly seems to have the self-centered self-destroying behavior down.

Well, at least she has the scrawny as death look... I'm not hot on her acting abilities, but she's about the only actress I've heard suggested that's thin enough, not plain looking, but not drop-dead gorgeous either.

YESYESYEEEEESSSSSS!!! Previously, my perfect image of Piemur was Ben Savage when he was younger. But Shia Lebouf is even better... he's the right age for an older Piemur, AND he can act.

Britney.

You know, because we're looking at people with self-centered, destructive behaviour and all.

I'd never cast her. She can't act and she can't sing. One of the most heavily over-produced singers I've ever heard, something I noted from the very first time I heard one of her releases. A real singer like Simone Simons, Sharon den Adel or Liv Kristine would blow her off the stage and out of the concert hall. I'd want real voices for the harpers.

If all else failed, I'm sure Scarlet Johansson is young enough, talented enough and beautiful enough to pull off Kylara.

For you and me, maybe, but perhaps not everyone. We do have at least one person admitting she used to like Britney Spears (Hate to think of the therapy bills, but at least she has recovered... ) and Spears is technically considered to be a singer and actress, so I addressed the point.

Unfortunately, I doubt it. Both the primary and redundant parental guidance units are malfunctioning, and the autonomous guidance system also appears thoroughly out of whack. I think about 15-25 years from now someone's going to be writing a book about "the lost generation of child stars." I'm really hoping that someone introduces the Michalka sisters to the Wilson sisters before they can fall into the trajectory of the Spears sisters. Here's to hoping.

I think Drew Barrymore needs to have a sit down with some of those girls.

She seems to fit a parallel path, but managed to come out of it.

Unfortunately, I can't thing of any late 20-something early 30-something women of PERN that Drew could play. At least not in DF. And I'd really rather not see her cast as the "fat" gold rider that was afraid of heights.

Maybe she could be Jaxom's mother.

I know she's a little old for DragonFlight, but this actress might be a good fit (other than that) for Lessa

Reese Witherspoon - She's short (5' 2½" (1.59 m))

Reese Gallery

She's got that small but curvy body that seems to be described. She has a sharp chin (I saw a few lines on Robin Woods's sight where she said that AMC kept telling her to make the chin sharper.). She has blue or green eyes. (Anyone have a cite on what color eyes Lessa is supposed to have?).

And she can actually ACT!

Dark grey, apparently to the point where they're almost black when she's feeling particularly strong emotion.

Not a bad suggestion, but I've always found something about RW's forehead to be very odd and unattractive to the point of repulsiveness. (An odd reaction, I know but the desire to look away from this woman is as visceral as the desire to look at Simons or Beckinsale.) Hair color can be changed, and tinted contacts can handle the eyes.

Thanks, I think.

Anyway, I have another possibility for F'lar, seeing as we're apparently looking at Dragonflight now.

James Marsden: http://bp1.blogger.com/_lLsdaCVk3Kk/...Marsden104.jpg

http://bp3.blogger.com/_lLsdaCVk3Kk/...sMarsden02.jpg

He is tall enough (I can't exactly remember his height), seems to have something similar to F'lar's facial structure and hair and seems to be able to pull of that smouldering, searching look F'lar apparently has. (And its not hard to colour his eyes amber).

I wouldn't mind him. And no, this has nothing to do with the fact that I spent fifteen minutes salivating over him with some other friends. So shut up.

I couldn't agree more. I can't help but stare at her forehead and wince, it's constantly distracting.

But I don't agree with the use of colored contacts - I have yet to see an effective use of them where they don't look like contacts. It makes it look like the pupil is right on the outer curve of the eyeball, rather than being behind the clear lens. Every time I see them use colored contacts, that's very distracting as well, it doesn't look natural.

Katherine Heigl? She was also in Knocked Up, and she's on Grey's Anatomy - one of the most irritating, stupid-thing-doing, annoying characters, but she definitely is good at making you hate her... I really liked her in Knocked Up. I can't really see her as anyone on Pern, though.

Marsden hasn't convinced me that he has the chops to handle F'lar's gravitas. Clive Owen is a better choice in that regard. However, I think you just solved the problem of whom to cast as F'nor alongside Owen as F'lar...

No worries about the salivation...unless you short out your keyboard.

I've heard lots of hype about her, but she hasn't impressed me. I think I'd still go with Johannson.

Gosh- he's a fox, Dragongirl! Purely on looks alone- which I know is a shallow way to judge- he'd make a good F'lar. He'd be awesome- and I'll look him up and see. . .

Anyway, I have another possibility- for someone, possibiy F'nor. Ashton Kutcher. Seriously, ever see the movie the Gaurdian? He's got the altruistic, selfless concern down, seems like a nice guy, and is also a looker!

I've never seen Kutcher play anything but a total doofus.

Here's a thought: Who could we cast Liv Tyler or Neve Campbell as?

Actually, neither had I- so I was super-surprised when I found out he could actually do like, a serious role. Ashton Kutcher? Really?

No matter how well he could potentially act, I'll never see him as anyone other than Kelso.

IMO, I'm not sure Kutcher's even good enough to cast as bait.
