James "Scotty" Doohan has left us to join DeForest Kelly in the stars.

But he had a very good innings

I love the original Star Trek, corny as it may seem by present day standards.

I remember the thrill I got when I first moved to New York to work in 1987 and discovered that there was an episode of the original Star Trek on the TV three times a week at that time I had to race back to the hotel on the appropriate evenings to indulge

Two 'legends' gone...

I started watching Star Trek with TNG, but when I first ran across classic reruns, I thought they were good too. Had me a little confused at first....

The same lass who introduced my sister and I to Pern was also an avid trekker. She introduced us to the original series, then occasionally on syndication, in the late 70s, early 80s. Shows my age, doesn't it. I feel like an old man.

Another Trek legend dead...

My condolences to his family and his fellow shipmates of the USS Enterprise.

Farewell to James. He shall be missed.

A good actor has died. I have seen him in several other roles and he acquitted himself well. Must have been hard since he was typecasted for life of course...

May he rest in peace.

*sigh* Another one gone. I think that of James Doohan was one of my favorites. {{{{{{}}}}}}} He'll join Gene in the skies and watch over us. That makes three Trek legends gone. :`(

He lived long and prospered, but I'm still sad that another legend's gone...
