Default My Funny Husband

I have just been reminded of something my lovely husband did just recently.
He can be very funny sometimes..

Well, like many of you do, I collect dragons (figurines, stuffed toys etc..). Not very long ago my hubby came home from work with a lovely set of dragon figurines for my collection (sorry about the size of the photo):

They are set in the poses of "Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil".

Well, he presents me with these little cuties, and promptly tells me that "this is the complex range of emotions he goes through whenever he comes home from work & I tell him about all the lovely AMC books that I spent money on since I saw him that morning"

I thought I was going to die laughing. My poor, sweet, overly generous husband has never said "NO" to any book I wanted to buy. Even if I shouldnt have.

I thought some of you might get a kick out of this story. I know I did.

That is a great little anecdote! What a great guy.

Megan, I need a set like that!! My sister-in-law collects "Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil" sets! Can you ask your hubby where he got them? Maybe I can order them online.

I thought you might like that story.

And he will be happy to hear that I only bought 1 AMC book since I saw him this morning!

The figurines are really cute. I just did a google search for them, and you're in luck. I found them for sale for $19.95 at an online store called "Draconika Dragons". I just typed " hear see speak no evil dragons" & it took me straight there. I would provide a link but I dont know how to do it (I should probably learn how one of these days... )

Hope that helps. Let me know if you cant find them.

But while searching for see no evil, speak no etc. dragons I got a surprise... how about this: http://www.samsaragifts.com/nl/produ...ijgen_iii.html

Anything you might want to tell us, Sam?
Life is strange sometimes!

I've actually found on ebay, a listing where the seller was wanting someone to take his younger brother out on a date but this was 2 years ago. One of those weird searches when I was looking for something else altogether and it popped up amongst the listings. Then hubby and I got talking about it recently and we found things with silly sayings on it along the lines of ....

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=300197257163

another with "I don't need an encyclopedia, my wife knows it all".

"I do what the voices in my wife's head tells me".

"My husband rocks".

Samsara - does your hubby read my hubby's mind because that's really scary?

On a Dutch talkshow there once was an elderly couple of which the husband, looking very seriously, said:

"When we got married 50 years ago my wife and I agreed that she would make the less important day-to-day decisions but I, as man in the house, would decide on all the important issues. And I'm proud to say that, during that last half century, there hasn't been any important issues on which I had to take a decision..."

Hmm.. I'm starting to get weirded out myself Jube.... There sure does seem to be a lot of similarities.. Makes me feel a little less , which is good actually!

I once saw on Letterman or something like it, a guy who sold his "footy club loyalty"on ebay. He was upset with his own team, cause they were doing so badly, but he couldn't decide which team to support in their place. So he sold his team loyalty for.... wait for it... around USD $2000. He agreed to support the winning buyer's team by going to all their matches & buying all their merchandise etc...

Come to think of it, listing Hubby for sale on ebay doesn't sound so after all...................... nah.......................

I'm sending out a very big thank you to Jube, for the lovely dragon figurine she has gifted me for my collection.

Jube, she's lovely. Thank you! I can see why you say she reminds you of Ramoth with her babies. I love the way she has a protective arm around them. She will have a special place in my collection. This was really sweet of you to do this for me.

I so hope I get to Worldcon to thank you in person!

Congrats on the dragons Samsara and Hans.

The one piece of advice my MIL's new husband received from his 96 year old father during his short speech at their wedding two days ago was: "The secret to a happy marriage is to say 'yes, dear' when your wife is angry at you." (I don't agree, a man who'd agree with everything I said would drive me nuts in short order...)

I am with you, Granath. I dated a "yes dear" guy...and my dad had to step in to keep me from walking all over the poor guy! Nick and I may argue, but we both know where we both stand on all issues!

Well my hubby rarely says to "no" to my requests, but I wouldn't call him a "yes dear" either.
