I thought the joke was that Maine does too have a summer, and if it falls on a weekend you have a picnic!

I thought Maine's seasons were Fall, Winter, Mud and Construction!

We had spring in February/March, then snow over Easter, and now we're pretending to be on Noah's Ark

![]() Even that is a bit of an exaggeration because construction has a tendency to not start until the end of tourist season (end of May till end of September/early October), and then they never get everything done because they don't start them early in the season. They don't watch all the travelers from out of state to have to wait through construction traffic unless something has to be done during tourist season. The snow is still here....and it won't be gone until April at the rate we're going. We got more snow today, at least it turned over to rain. So, there is still hope that spring will be on it's way!

Actually I first heard that joke as being about Duluth, Minnesota, but it works for anywhere cold enough.

After spending thirty years in our local mountians during all kinds of seasonal weather...I think I can say that I unfortunately know what MUD is
![]() It is one season that I truly hate...thankfully in our area that season was short...and I can certainly feel for those that have to put up with it every year. There is just nothing you can do with it...well other than to get stuck in it or have it all over your shoes and clothes. Its all things YUCKY...smelly, gooie, sticky and for the most part a truly discusting color..UGGGG !!!!

Linda: the sailing club to which I belonged in Suffolk used to play mud-rugger at low tide!

I am so happy. It was raining earlier today, and then in the early evening it switched over to snow
![]() I suppose that I can be happy that it's not a huge snow storm coming through, and that has happened in the past.

Geesh! We have had several days of light snow, followed by sun in the afternoon that melts all the snow. But everything has sprouted in the greenhouse anyways, so I am hoping we'll get a couple of dry days so I can work at getting the garden beds ready to take these greenhouse starts in a couple of weeks. LOL
Meanwhile, because I have been in the house so much, I managed to get half way on sewing a graduation gown for my daughter, Randa. She is ecstatic! ![]() |

This lot fell about 3am: just when our numerous night clubs aqre kicking folks out. I would love to have seen the numerous under-dressed ladies suddenly faced with unexpected snow!

I live in Northeastern Oklahoma (think Tulsa) and we're FINALLY starting to get some warmer weather. Our soccer season started early this year...March 8...and my girls have been FREEZING all season! Now that we're finally warming up they're playing SO much better. My next-to-youngest daughter's team is undefeated, but my oldest daughter's team has only won 3 games. However they played AWESOME Saturday, since it was in the 70's (and I'm sunburned from the game haha).
However, I wish we could have gotten more snow this year. People drive like idiots in the bad weather around here, but every time we've ever gotten tons of snow I've been too pregnant to play in it! And my kids are all nearly 3 years apart! It's not fair. I don't like snow enough to move to Toronto, where my in-laws live, but I wish we got a bit more of it down here. LOL |
