So my current job is staffing the visitor center at a state park a little over an hour from home; there's housing onsite, so I don't have to commute. Anyway, it is extremely slow at this time of year - maybe just a couple of people come in each day. So I've been working on my fanfic! I've finally gotten a bunch more done on "Weyr Search" - Ramoth's hatching from Kylara's POV. I still might add some to it, but I think it stands alone pretty well as is. Let me know what you think!

Trump is refunding national parks.

So far this month has not been good. Having problems with heat pump, so have been running heat on electric only, electric bill over 500 dollar, normally 300. Transmission went on van, mechanic said not to bother putting more money into van. Jennifer pinched a nerve in her shoulder, has missed 3 days and can't go back to until Tues. Last night Ebony, dog, got a wart thing on her leg bleeding, after vet was closed. Took to E.R vet 338 dollars to have it removed. Had to pay right then. Kibby really stepped up and gave money she was saving to pay for it.

Why is being a parent so hard at times? Kibby wants to move to Staunton Va, 2 hours away. I know it will be good for her, most of her friends live in that area. I am trying to encourage her to go. But I want her to stay, I don't want her to go. I'm going to miss her. Why is letting go so hard?

Indeed. And I hope, a home to return to should she ever need to do so. She's a grown woman striking out on her own, you need to have faith in her and trust that you've raised her right. Of course, life is uncertain and you never know what may happen, but wouldn't it be worse if she showed no signs of wanting to cut the apron strings?

Isn't it weird that the things we know are right are sometimes the hardest to do.
On a lighter side, Since I was given a wireless optical mouse as a birthday gift a couple years ago, I never realized how irritating it was to have to use the scroll bar all the time. Well the Scroll wheel on my mouse has decided it has scrolled enough and has stopped working. First the forward went, then the backwards quit. It's like a giant step backwards in computer tech. Just a stupid little wheel on a thing called a mouse, but, wow is this irritating. ...................New mouse is ordered. don't know how I will survive until it gets here. urgghhh.

So, I just realised I have been quite lax and not shared our news. Tathra and I are expecting twins in spring next year! We had our 20 week anomoly scan on the 20th December and found out that they are both girls.

This is 'Twin A' currently known as Pick

This is 'Twin B' currently known as Mix

And this the pair of them together back during the 12 week scan (they are now to big to get into the same scan picture).

Small world! The hospital is once again expanding and is in the midst of lots of work to make more space and bring it all right up to date. It is definitely one of the nicest hospitals I've had dealings with!

Had a nice quiet Christmas. Got lots of cool stuff.

When I was getting stuff out of Mom's closet to wrap, about a week ago, Mom asked what was in a green container, so I opened it. It was a beautiful long sleaved shit, just what I asked for, in my size.

Moral of the story if I'm wrapping something to me (I do all the wrapping) label it. Kibby uses duct tape, lots of duct tape, before giving it to wrap.

Christmas Miracle ! The optical mouse that had stopped working, Was knocked off the computer stand by my Cat, ( I know, I know, Cat and Mouse ) But the freaking thing works again! New one is to deliver tomorrow, I'll keep it as a backup. This could be a Temp. condition.

I be here, been busy the last couple days. Phone line was out ( DSL ) on Thursday and Friday. Since I do not have a cell phone that connects to.............Well...........anything. I spent the last couple days reading and staying warm, been below 0 degrees here for the last 3 days. I need spring ! I don't mind snow, but this cold is really irritating. The furnace doesn't stay off for very long. Forecast is calling for warmer temps. next week.

Phone line was out ( DSL ) on Thursday and Friday. Since I do not have a cell phone that connects to.............Well...........anything. I spent the last couple days reading and staying warm, been below 0 degrees here for the last 3 days. I need spring ! I don't mind snow, but this cold is really irritating.
