Robin is on so many meds it is hard to figure out which one or more is causing the problems.

Being off the internet meant I had much more time to write and finished the 2nd draft of my story. My proof reader (Mom) Is out of commission so not sure when it will be corrected.
That is what happen in '07. We were working on it and she had a stroke, so never got around to finishing it until now.

Hi all!! Since I changed jobs a year or so ago, I find it hard to find time to come by as often. It is always nice to come back and see all the people still here. I have my audio books and listen to them over and over again. I never get tired of them. I will try to get back here more often. Miss you all.

I hope you like your new job.

One of the little orange things (kittens) (Lot for short), had a dirty rear-end and is not appreciating his bath and lightly bit Kibby. She deserved it, giving the poor things a bath.

Kibby is back in school as of today. Now she gets to learn how to juggle working, school and house hold chores. She does not have much chores to do. Most don't need to be done daily.
School comes first, then work, most chores last.

She only has to keep the living room straightened up. Most days, pick up the big stuff. Every few days sweep and once a week or so a good job. She is also in charge of litter boxes, feeding and watering the four footed.

Our three cats are "indoor only". The litter boxes and feeding are my job. I know you have quite a few cats, does that mean several litter pans or are more of your cats indoor/outdoor?

I love kayaking, ginny. We had two when we lived on the shore. We kept one and it now sits in the shed, hoping someday we'll have a use for it again.

School starts again very soon. The summer has zipped by, I think once July 4 happens the rest is a down hill slide that accelerates the closer we get to the end of August.

I've been working on Santa Christmas ornaments. The hardest part is threading the tiny hole in the needle I have to use to sew on the little seed beads that go on after all the cross stitching is done.

We have three little boxes. With the pet door they can all come and go as they please most of them go outside, in the summer the litter boxes are not bad. When the weather is bad they get used more. There are a couple that will go out in bad weather, but not many.

We never have a problem with the dogs not going outside. If the snow is deep or the rain is bad they will stay next to the house. and only go a few feet away. In good weather they go down in the woods.

Oh nomnomnom!!!!!!! These seem to be the most popular cookies of all.
I was drooling over a TV cook making these last night, he didn't use the PBC though. Do you put them in the cookies? I really should make some. Trouble is the hubby has no self control when it comes to cookies, especially home made ones. I have to hide them in the depths of the freezer.

My Hubby is like that with anything chocolate. Peanut butter and chocolate is even better.

I am baby sitting the two little ones again. Robin got sick again, dizzy throwing up, then got worse. Can't think clearly or walk right. I hope they keep her long enough to figure out what is causing the problem, not just treat the symptoms.

Love chocolate, can't stand peanut butter. Terrible waste of a perfectly good peanut. Like chocolate covered peanuts. Just never liked peanut butter. But I understand people that do like the stuff.

But I like chocolate by itself, and chocolate tea, wine, liqueur, beer and so on.
Chocolate tea: The stuff I can find is black tea flavored with real chocolate. Tremendous.
Chocolate wine: Chocolateer is the brand I've found to be the best. They have flavors like milk chocolate, chocolate mint, chocolate cherry, chocolate turtle, and one or two others. Yummy, yummy, yummy!
Chocolate liqueur: Prichard's Fudge Brownie Crème Liqueur. It is to die for.
Chocolate beer: Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout. By far the best I've found.

By the way, MILK chocolate.

Dark chocolate is what I prefer, though if it's really good milk chocolate that's fine too. I can't stand "white" chocolate! I don't care for peanut butter in sandwiches (I had too many PB&J's for lunch as a kid), however peanut butter and chocolate?! YES, please! I'll have all of yours, Allen!

I'm not a big alcohol drinker, none of that sounds appealing to me.

I hope they keep Robin long enough to figure out what is wrong, Maw!

This is the third time in 3 weeks, this is getting, has gotten ridiculous. They should have kept her the first time. They did an MRI which showed nothing unusual. All they are doing is looking at brain problems. With her disease she could have tumors any where. They need to look at ALL of her not just her brain.

Well, back home now at least. Everything that can be closed off has been up north, so just have to wait and see how my father manages now.

Funeral was as Mum requested, very short and sweet and informal. Everything went perfectly to plan though, so about the best we could ask for. The weather even co-operated by stopping the rain for the half hour we were there, despite raining non-stop for the rest of the day.

Saab unsurprisingly as with the trip up north completed the journey without missing a beat or using a drop of anything save for petrol. Poor thing now though is officially getting some R&R for a couple of months after the service it's given me over the last few weeks.

Barely time to get my feet back on the ground here though as we're off on holiday over to the US on Thursday. Probably for the best to be honest as it should at least mean that my mind is kept busy.

Coming our way are you?! Doing anything in particular or just sight seeing? There are a LOT of lovely natural things to see - Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Crater Lake, Blue Ridge Mountains - that just scrapes the surface. Safe journey and I am glad things went as reasonably as can be expected for your mother's service.

Some of the areas of Yelowstone are pretty smelly, I couldn't imagine WANTING to get close enough to scrape it! There is some absolutely beautiful scenery there and of course the hot springs and geysers. I was there with my family when I was about 9 years old. Jeff and I are hoping to visit many of the Parks in a year or so.

Sept. is Chiari Malformation month. People are being asked to turn their avies purple in support.

I have been reading some of the Chiari blogs and am thankful Seth was diagnosed and treated as quickly as he was. Most people end up going from one neurologist to another for years, or even decades, being told they are making it up, the headaches are not that bad, they're just migraines (that never go away) ect... Even some to the top neurologist in their field have missed it. It is so rare that unless you happen to get a Dr. who specialize in it you end up misdiagnosed. We are so lucky we live near a teaching hospital and an expert in the disease.

Robin's new Dr. took a look at the meds she was on and said there is no way those drugs would work with each other. They fight each other and won't work. He has taken her off everything except her anti seizure meds. She is also off all caffeine. She can not be left alone at all. She can not think right and if there was an emergency she would have no idea what to do. Even the most basic thing. If there was a fire should would not think to get out of her apartment.

Her thinking has been way off for awhile. The other day she called Tammy early, she said Melissa wanted to ask her something, but could not remember what. When Tammy asked if Melissa was driving Robin did not know, she said probably. Melissa was sitting next to Robin on the couch at home.

I don't know how they are going to manage to having someone with her all the time. She is very difficult to live with.

I don't have any close family any more, just a couple much older cousins and their kids. Some of their kids are my age or older. None of them live any closer than about a five hour drive and most are much further (Georgia, North Carolina. Florida). We have never been close and for the most part I like it that way. I hear so many horror stories related to other people's family dramas I'm glad it's just us and our kids!

Schools have started again. A few trees have started to change their leaf color. I think Fall is coming!

Ice bucket challenge for ALS (I believe it has another name in the UK - motor neurone disease). Most of the comments I see on the news about this are very positive. We did not get nominated to do it by anyone but Jeff and I donated anyway. There are all sorts of methods that organizations use to raise money for research - road races or walks for breast cancer is just one I can think of. Our kid's pediatric dentist died from ALS. He was one of the nicest people I've ever met. If this raises enough money to bring a cure closer to reality I see no harm in it.

My sister in law died from ALS 5 years ago. It is so hard to see the struggle and not be able to do something about it.

The idea was originally to draw attention to ALS and to make a donation and dump the ice bucket after challenging 3 others to do likewise. If the challenged didn't do the ice bucket, they were supposed to donate $100, but hopefully they would donate even if they did the ice bucket.

Well, I've seen a bunch of challenges, and Patrick Stewart is in my opinion the best.

Fantastic! He's one of my very favorite actors and human beings. Thanks for sharing!

The whole point of the ice bucket is because the shock/pain of the ice water hitting you is supposed to simulate, for a moment at least, the pain felt by ALS/MND sufferers.

Staying in East Lansing, MI with friends for most of the trip. My partner's parents live here and we have many favourite places around here. We will be heading up to the Upper Peninsula next weekend I think, but not got massive plans. Just a nice break.

I don't think I've ever been to Michigan. I hope you have a really nice, relaxing holiday!
