Default Robert E. Howard

I'm so excited!

A friend needed money badly, and so decided to sell most of his Robert E. Howard collection. I'm talking like 50 books plus, many rare.

I managed to secure myself $400 worth of books, which I will be paying off over 2 months! And they're getting sent off tomorrow! *does a little happy dance*

Always helps to have a library that you can work from. Mum found the same thing when she was writing about Port Fairy, Koroit and their respective areas, purely from the historical viewpoint. It took her 20 years of research to get 2 books out because of all the finicky points that one has to double-check on.

Just a quick question, Robert Jordan also wrote some of the newer "Conan the Barbarian" books that Howard wrote but was he one of the select few who were allowed to do so? Trying to remember....

a fair number have written Conan stories, but those are largely in the public domain now. The situation is complicated, and many prefer only the REH stories, myself included, in authoratative texts where possible.

In case you're wondering about the rumours, yes, they're true: Robert E. Howard is now in the Penguin Modern Classics line. I have the book to confirm it, and it has my favourite REH western, "Vultures of Wahpeton".
