I just found that on Fantastic fiction, when I was looking over all of Anne's books. I have to go and get one when I comes out, I have all the rest of them. Yeah what a way to start the new year.

I ordered my copy, and I haven't gotten it yet. I will be interested to see what she says after reading it.

I read it last month. very good. has the same rhythm as Petaybee. It also says on the front cover that this is Book 1 of the Twins of Petaybee! So! Now we can look forward to more. This one is about the twins after they were born and up until they were about pre-teen I'd say. Also some very mysterious "underwater" seals(name given by the regular seals) that are at the Island being made by Petaybee in the South. More to come on those I'm sure. therwise a very good addition to the series. as always!

I just finished reading Changelings, and frankly I found it disappointing. The plot was concoluted, and yet too simple, at the same time. The characters had lost much of their sparkle, and I just can't stand Murel and Ronan!
Also, there were many chnages from the rest of the series - Nanook was suppossed to be male, Johnny Greene is miussing his last 'e', and a couple of other names were slightly different, too. And those little changes just annoyed me all the way through! |

OK. I thought that maybe it was all miss prints! That maybe I got a bad copy or something. The mix up with the cat's genders were alittle surprising to me too. I didn't notice the missing "E". And I thought that since this was the first in a series that maybe it'll get better?*shes asks with hope* I still thought it had the rhythm tho. maybe I was so happy to have something new to read I was blinded.

I've yet to read the others already published, but I found it an enjoyable read. I found the twins a bit too adult in their actions and decisions, and the book as a whole felt a tad thin, with not enough meat.
There was also a sense that the dangers faced were not dangerous enough. This may be a result of it being the first in a new series, of course, or maybe the youthfulness of the twins may be a factor. I shall be submitting my book review of it maybe Thursday at the latest. |

I'm still waiting for it to come out at my local bookstore. Just wondering if it's a deliberate misprint by the printers? Or by the authors? Not having read it yet, I can't say I've noticed but thought I'd bring the question up!

I started reading it... I don't think I can finish it. I'll give it another try. I'm finding something about it highly annoying, which really bugs me because I really like both the authors.

I recieved a gift card to Books a Million so was looking for some of Anne's books other than Pern (I have all of them). I was unable to locate any ship books but found Changling and Maelstrom...Are they independent of the other Petaybee books? Should I start with an earlier book?
