Big Grin NEW Photos on my Petra web site

YEA
With a big thank you to my friend Hans [the great] I was able to reduce the file size of my photos and I have added new pictures to my Pern Dig web site.
Drop by and see them.

Nice...are those more artifacts buried in the sand at the sides of the plaza? Or just rocks?

Hi Greenrider Tresa,
BOTH we found lots of artifacts and lots of big heavy stone... A major building fell down during an earthquake in 363 AD.. we found coins, pottery, bones, and statues... It was a lot of fun unearthing things that no person has seen in almost 2,000 years.

That's cool. It'd be fun to find stuff like that, but I'm afraid I'd miss something and step on things, breaking them. Except for coins and such that don't break that easily.

Tresa
Actually Tresa things get broken all the time -- usually with a pick.
Even coins can be broken that way, but it is all part of the work of archaeology. It is so exciting to turn over a bit of dirt and find an artifact that you are the first person to see it in over 1700 years or more. Even the best diggers miss and break things.... I won't talk about a lamp that I split right in half...

Oh well, I didn't know that. Still, I'd probably have to be pretty close and know what I was looking for to find something small, given my vision.
