Sorry about the multi-post. My computer is doing some oddball things. Unless the fire liard has learned to use the thing. As curious as those critters are I'd not doubt it.

Ooh, how come I only found this thread today?

Loved the Dr Seuss parody, do you know who wrote it?

My favorite series are DS9 and TNG, and my favorite character is Riker.

That Stonre Trek site had me in STICHES. I was laughing so bleeding hard the ctas were all sitting there with the "What the??" look. :-D

My favorite Trek shows start form the Orginal Series and goes to the lastest Enterprise.

TOS: Kirk and his merry band. Funny Uniforms, funnier stores, great charactor interaction. LOVE the jokes SPock said. yeah dry humour, subtle facial twitches, that Vulcan had me sniggering a lot.
Next Generation, not every episode,Uniforms? Oh my word. When we go into spac,e I'm wearing that! Spandex?? Are they in sane? Picard made his "Picard manuver" because his clothing kept going north. You think a guy is going to sit in his command chair on one buttock cheeck, legs crossed becasue he wants too? Two words"Uniform Bites."

DS9: LOVED it when Sisko slugged "Q" POW! hehehe. Better Uniforms, got to see the Bajorian culture as a charactor. How these people grew and changed over theyears as did the DS9 staff. Lots of Klingon/Romulan interaction. Farengi too. Poor Nog's uncle.

Voyager, although some episodes became too forumulaic. The Borg became WAY to easy to beat.. Other Episodes got ito the meat of the people's feelings being stuck out there. Such as Janeway's because SHE was responsible for it. Or thought she was. Nice space craft. One guy who'd made te newer Battlestar galactica wnated to produce Voyager witha BSG flavor. IE, you loose a shuttle craft, it's gone til you find another ship(non-Starfleet) or build another to replace it. WHen resources go down, you need to forage etc.

Enterpise. LOVE the homage to the NASA blue unifroms. a REAL uni for once.:-) THose Uniforms are made from denium, Nice ship. Ablative hull plating and cannons, Aaarrrrugghhh. Yeah the continuailty will bug a lot of hard core Trekkers, but it is before Starfleet had it's core rules and prime directive. They were still inexperienced. I did like the Humna/Vulcan interaction. Humans wnating to go flying off to who know swhere without decent prepartions, while the Vulcans did prepare became too skittish to even want to explore.

Rep to both. They were not signed at Dragocon.

Several years ago Mom went to a science fiction convention in N.J. they were both there. Someone asked if they had ever been asked to sign anything really strange like a fake leg. The said no. Mom took her leg off & asked if they would like to. Some one took her leg on to the stage & they signed it.
When she got home she told her prosthic person about it, he made her a new leg so that this one would not get messed up.

I know. I've read a lot of good stuff, a lot of it coming through a couple of Yahoo Groups I'm a member of, and a lot of stuff where I felt the Author should be pushed out of an Airlock for it! Some you read once and go "What the hell was he/she thinking?!!" others, especially my favorite saga, you wait with baited anticipation for the next part and get all annoyed when it tales so long for it to come out. But then, good writing should take time!

I can't remember anything about Kirk's "childhood", if there was ever anything official said about it, but the tiny bit in that trailer looked pretty dark, scarey and violent. Not at all what I'd pictured his would be like, considering the way he was portrayed as an adult. Anybody else get that from the trailer? I'll probably see this at some point, though I'll most likely wait to rent it or even wait until it comes to tv.

Actually Emeraldrose, you misheard. Listen to it again and you will actually hear him say it correctly.

Hope THIS helps Priscilla
Wow! I had no idea anyone had gone to that much trouble to make up such a detailed biography! *Scratches head*. I guess it helped, sort of. Thanks!

Farewell Number One

Nurse Chapel has been paged up

NOW who gets The Holy Rings of Betazed?!

It's always sad to see another member of the original cast pass beyond the veil.

She's now up there with Gene, De, Mark and James waiting for the rest of the crew to report for duty - May that be long in coming.

Farewell Mrs. Roddenberry, you will be missed.
