Now, that's why I don't quite understand the preference for collecting Hard Cover over paperback. With paperback, the cover is "there", it can't be removed (easily) and while I admit the books are usually smaller the pictures are very nice. IF the artwork on a hardcover was actually part of the cover? I'd be much more likely to get excited about collecting them. Once you remove that flimsy piece of paper from a Hard Cover, it's just a boring single color book. Having said that, I do have a fair number of Hard Covers, but far more paperbacks.

I would have to agree with you you could use clear lamation sheat to protect It. I have a friend that would take off her dust jackest of her Hard Cover after she would get them.

Depend on the type font and also if its a club edition I like Hard Covers, for they are easyer to read.

Well, if you could match that cover to a coverless but otherwise pristine copy of a 1st Ed DF HB bought for cheap, then you'd have something valuable. I agree though, it is beyond silly to want $400 for a dust cover.

I would expect to get the book AND the dust jacket for that price. That's an awful lot of money for a dust jacket, especially with the tape damage on it. Just way too much money.
Tho I do agree with Cheryl, if you managed to get the book itself for a cheap price then maybe you'd consider purchasing the jacket. Tho I think I'd make an offer to the seller, $400 is just tooooooooo high!

Considering it's not a pristine cover, $400 is way too high.

This is just a rediculous price for any cover...I don't think I would pay that even if it came with a decent book inside of it. These days the prices of the better books is awful...and it has a lot to do with what we as collectors are sometimes willing to pay for the perfect book. Hopefully soon the books we all want will come back to more reasonable prices.
