27th Anniversary - A Meeting of Minds

Today my darling Melanie and I have been married for 27 loving years.

We celebrated by both taking the day off from work and spending it totally together. We went for a picnic in the forest followed by a walk on one of the hiking trails. In some ways it seems like only yesterday that we traveled to Dallas to be married in her home church. We love each other more today than we did 27 years ago. I am a very blessed man and I thank the Lord of life for my wonderful wife.

Kendall and I only have 11 years under our belt, but my grandparents have 67!

Congratualtion!

27 years is sadly becoming a long time to have been married (my parrents got divorced after almost 25 years of marriage). But of course, if people truely love and respect each other, the years fly by and 27 years probably feels like only 5

.
And what a wonderful way to celebrate - taking the day off to be alone together.
My husband and I celebrated our actual weddingday my just being the two of us (we went to the zoo before going to the city hall) and only telling people afterwards that we had gotten married. Of course the family didn't quite appreciate my way of spending this special day (i.e. without them), but that is a different story.
