Default Tigana - Guy Gavriel Kay

Tigana is a fantasy novel by Guy G. Kay. The plot of the novel features a world called The Palm which consists of nine ununified provinces that are concured by two wizards. One of the wizards loses his son in a battle for one of the provinces, Tigana, and casts a curse on both the land and it's people. The main heros of the story try to overtrow the usurpers and restore peace.
The world of Tigana and the main plot is built on the history of Italy.
The book puts great emphasis on the different moral shades of people, so one of the two wizards, while being seen as ruthless tyrant by many, is actually a very sympathetic character, while many of the rebels comit many acts which are far from being moraly right.
This is also a standalone novel.
I read it a while back and liked it very much. The story was very interesting and different from what I've read before. I would suggest to anyone who wants a good read to give it a chance.

It's my favourite book, ever.

It's about identity, love, vengeance, and all the strongest and most powerful human traits. It's about love, and what we'll sacrifice in its name, how it can be corrupted, and how it can transform us. It's about what really matters in life. And it has the best damn ending ever.

Not my favourite by far but still a very good book and one of the group that'll stay on my shelves whatever happens!
