Default Year of The Lucy ex lib UK HB (possibly 1st UK printing)

As part of my big move I am slimming down my bookcase (ha ha- would you believe that I have just bought more) and this one is up for grabs.

It's for sale- I can't give it away I'm afraid, though I haven't a clue what price and how to (I'm going to have to be really nice to Nick and borrow his paypal).

Anyway (and pictures will follow), it's a UK HB (I think it's first printing), ex-library, with dustkjacket.

It's structurally sound, with a slight spline slant.

Dustjacket clean, with a couple of creases at the fold.

Damaged flyleaf with a piece missing and glue stains, a library stamp and a few ink marks. Two stamps on title page. Slight yellowing on some pages.

Photos to follow. I will post worldwide.

I could do with a decent copy. My UK paperback is one of the worst pieces of proof-reading I've ever seen published.

(Plus the last three pages are now missing)

Hmmm, bookfinder comes up with zilch for the 1987 Corgi books hardcover. Does that mean it's rare?

I wouldn't say its exactly rare...but then again its not seen every day...especially the UK version. I have several of the US versions of this story...but I don't ever remember seeing the UK one. I will be looking forward to seeing your photos of it.

Pictures...
Nick took them as he has a better camera.

Front cover

Inside

Flyleaf- showing the damage and the yellowing of the pages.

the book itself.

None of the damage is my fault. The book is ex-lib and by the smell and condition of the books when I had them, they had also been stored in a garage, shed or outside loo! They don't smell an more. Two years of airing helps a lot!

Library copies are pretty variable. I don't think its a very common edition.

I would agree Edi, as I have never seen this copy before...but then again I don't collect the british editions.
