Good news must travel slowly, right?
So it took some time but there is a BIG (as in: many words) news update on Elizabeth's website. Whether she typed it one fingered, one handed or with the use of her nose... I don't care because the news is there. Oh my, I'm starting to rhyme so I should quit now! Move your mouse to: http://www.elizabethkerner.org/news.html and click, and feast your eyes!

Elizabeth, glad you're doing better. You and I are both doing deep rewrites of a book and basically making it a different book. I'm about 100 pages into the rewrite now. Good luck with yours.

eann - sorry to hear it, but congrats on being a long way ahead of me! I've only started, but am happy with where it's going so far. All the best luck with yours too. Sigh. Still, as long as it makes better books, always worth doing. Hugs.

Sorry to hear about the book...but once your all fit again I am sure you will be able to do the rewrite and get it all done, so that the book comes out the way you are wanting it to. Don't rush that hand of yours though...or you could be longer getting it to stop hurting.

Elizabeth, I think I'm in the home stretch but I still have to figure out the end and a few other bits. I think I have set too hard a task here trying to do the whole thing first person from the cat's viewpoint. There's just an awfully lot that's important about the story that the little cat wouldn't know. He is curious though so he might find out.

I'm so impressed Annie. Now I've got my hand back, I've put my blessed hip out. Sheesh! So I can only sit for so long. It's getting better, but it does make it ruddy hard to concentrate. At least have now got past the initial 'oh heck, where does this start?' bit. Now pondering how much of what I had before can work here. Answer looks like maybe about 50%. Sigh.
I know about endings. It's like flying - the start and the finish are the hardest. All best wishes and a following wind, my friend. Bet you finish before I do! Hugs - E

You can't start or land in a following wind! Head winds only.
I've got a little gift for you (if only I knew where to send it)

I think I got the gift, P'ter and it was just what I would expect from you--a well written very long shaggy dog story with multiple puns at the end. I haven't heard from Herself about any possible reaction but she doesn't get to the computer as often as she once did either.

Elizabeth, is it your actual hip joint or maybe sciatica? I have had that sometimes--especially bad before my surgery but the chiropractor showed me some stretches that sorted it out pretty quickly.

P'ter, just send me a message here kiddo, PM still works! (If you need other info, pm me.)
Annie - I fell while gardening (tripped over the not-quite-fallen-to-bits-enough low bamboo border) and bashed my hip. A few days later it 'went' - felt like my leg was falling out of the socket and hurt like the devil. I went to my chiropractor, it got better, I took it easy, then last night I was drying myself off after a shower and it went again. Serious ow. Not sciatica. Have got an appointment with the local doctor for NEXT THURSDAY. I resisted saying to the receptionist "Yeah, great, if my leg's still attached!" but it's not her fault. So just have to take drugs and live with it. Pfeh.

Heh, P'ter, yeah, but this one works in a pinch.
And as for the winds - getting off the ground has always been the hardest for me, but oh, a following wind when you're aloft doesn't half speed the trip! ![]() Thanks Mara. Just got some new painkillers from the doc, so things are a little easier. BTW, I really like your name! Is it common in the Netherlands? Sigh. I always think I've made these things up, but then they appear from somewhere I should have known about. Never mind, great name!

As a geneaogist who deals and has dealt with names a lot I can safely say that Mara is not a common name in Dutch
![]() I agree on the beauty of the name though :nods:

Perhaps you should stick with the Pink flowered Cherry Blossom and chuck out all the Bitter Death Demon stuff. But thats just a suggestion.
