Default Re: Robbie Burns, and other favourite poets

Robbie Burns is probably my favorite. He was a man who believed in really living his life, and had an eye for the ladies, which is often reflected in his poems. He was also very proud of his Sctos heritage (Scots Wa Ham being a perfect example). I had a pair of first editions, but I donated them to a library, because I was afraid they's fall apart from over-loving them.

I also like Walt Whitman and Emily Post, probably because their poetry was about life, and love, history and dreams, desires and compromise.

Must admit, most modern day poets just don't inspire the same loyalty in me.
