Default Re: The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S Lewis

I am currently re-reading The Narnia stories as the movie release reminded me that I hadn't read them as recently as I'd thought - and I am pleased to say that I am enjoying them a lot!!

I did go and see the film recently. Whilst there was quite a lot of "Aslan as Jeezy Chreezy" references, and there was a whole lot of glamour and pish along with it, it wasn't bad. No, not epic at all, and there wasn't the sense of wonder and wanting to explore that world (such as I found with Peter Jackson's telling of Middle Earth), but not bad.

I was pleased to find that the overt Aslan as Jeezy Chreezy references seem to get a bit less in the later books of Narnia than in Lion, Witch & Wardrobe.

(Incidentally, I don't mean to be flippant or disrespectful with my use of Jeezy Chreezy as opposed to Jesus Christ - but if anyone out there has heard of Eddie Izzard he does a joke about God taking his son's name in vain - v funny.)
