They can operate and remove bits of liver without affecting life style too much. So long as it hasn't metastasised elsewhere as well. That means operate sooner rather than later.

In the days when I lived on a boat, I found that inserting a bath sponge into the locker holding the plastic crockery (above the items to wedge them down) kept things much quieter when underway.

If I remember rightly: most caravan and boat worktops are 500mm deep. As are many in OAP dwellings: easier for the old dears to reach the back! :D

"Runner of Pern" is included in "Legends" (ed. R. Silverberg, 1998)) and in "A Gift of Dragons" (2002). Tenna (runner) complains to Grogh's son Haligon that galloping his horse on a runner trail...

In Runner of Pern it implies that the maintenance of the runner traces was down to the runners.
