Finished off Acacia and The Other Lands by David Anthony Durham and loved them. A very fine fantasy read and can't wait for the third book in the trilogy to come out.

It has that effect on a lot of people. (A I think you mean Robin Hobb) I liked her Assassin books a lot better and the Dragon Keeper and Dragon Haven too.

That was one of my favorite books. R. A. MacAvoy had a new book out recently, after a very long hiatus, called In Between. It was pretty good.

Deceiver by C. J. Cherryh, the 11th book in the Foreigner series. I love Ilisidi in the books. Grandmother, great grandmother and very, very feisty.

Just finished a reread of The Warded Man (The Painted Man in the UK) and the first read of The Desert Spear. Both by Peter V. Brett. Very good reads with an interesting system of magic.

Just finished Shalidor's Lady by Anne Bishop. A very satisfactory story. Made me laugh, told an interesting tale and made me feel good at the end.

My last SF book would have been Connie Willis' Blackout. A more or less continuation of the time travel story she's told in Doomsday and To Say Nothing of the Dog. Very good reading.

Lee & Miller have two books in the Liaden Universe coming out in the next few months. Saltation, which is the sequel to Fledgling and will be out April 13.

Mouse and Dragon will come out...

Here be Dragons was also a very fine book by Sharon Kay Penman. It was an historical novel dealing with Wales in medieval times. That was my first thought when I saw the thread.

Very pretty tree and the outdoor decorations look nice (and fun) too. You do need an electric train to run through the village, though. Maybe next year. ;)
