Re: "Accurate" portrayal of riding gear

Search for images from Robin Wood's work in People of Pern and visit her website (www.robinwood.com) for newer pictures. I personally feel she has the best clothing references.

Re: Why was Lessa's talent at hearing dragons important?

It isn't gender tied. N'ton and Robinton are also both capable of hearing dragons.

There is a difference between 'psychic ability' and 'empathy rating'. The former is a reference to actually...

Re: Pern -- the grand plan?

It would make sense to keep a selection of efficient predator embryos in reserve in case they became needed to help manage prey populations in the future. They couldn't be sure how the native...

Seeing as the only references you listed to 'beak' are during hatching scenes, I would say it is describing an egg tooth as well. If someone can find 'beak' used in another context, I'd be interested...

Re: Pern measurements

IIRC, the DLG lists a dragonlength as the average length of a green dragon. So the measure would depend on the time period and the conversion of length (meters vs feet vs something else entirely).
