Re: Do you think they'd let Anne stay for free?

Hmm, I'm only a few states away from North Carolina. Did somebody say road trip?
Great idea, I love BandB owners who appreciate good books.

Re: What Should I Read Next?

Yeah, I was thinking about that one actually, either that or Acorna. Niether have gotten the best reviews, though I'd say people seem to like Crystal Singer better.

What Should I Read Next?

This weekend I'm going upstate with my family and there won't be any computer/Internet up there (oh horrors!) so I'll need a good book to keep myself occupied and sane. Of course, I'm leaning towards...

Re: If you had to be a character...

Hmm, this is hard.
On Pern, probably Debera, because she got the dragon and the man.
And hmm, maybe Laria. I really like her.

Re: Johnny Greene, the list

According to Sheryl's site (that's why I couldn't believe you missed it) the Johnny Greene incarnate in RSR/Dragonseye is Golagee, a singer or Harper or whatever they were at the College. Just so you...

Re: What type of Talent?

Hmm, maybe a t4 or 5 path/port. And what about an empath? Don't think anyone's gone with that yet. Might be cool.

Re: Books you couldn't put down!

Aw, loved Watership Down. And Harry Potter 6. Finished that one in two days straight. Actually, all of the HP books have been imposssible to put down for me. When Goblet of Fire came out, my mom...

Re: Moreta 1

The two situations are surprisingly similar. In both cases people were tired. Their resources were somewhat depleted and they were looking forward to the end of a long and terrible struggle. Like the...

Re: 9 Star League Women

Just started reading the Rowan series (am currently in the middle of Damia) and I'd have to say Isthia is my favorite. She seems like such a nice motherly person and she's such a rock to her family....

Re: Books that make you laugh out loud

The HP books (especially anything said by Ron, Fred, or George), The Ship Who Won and The Ship Errant (Jody Lynn Nye is pretty funny) and today I burst into giggles while re-reading Dragonsdawn. It...

Hmm let's see: Morath, Zaranth, Gadareth Ruth, Golanth,, and Ramoth I guess. Canth and Mnementh are pretty cool too.

Re: Favorite Human Character?

Ok, here's the list. Menolly, Debera, F'lessan, Tai, Jaxom, T'lion Readis, Robinton, and pretty much everyone else. My least favorites (I think there's a topic for that but I'll post them here...

Re: What would you like to see in a Pern story/book? Revisited

Thank you. I was just going to say that.
As for what I'd like to see in future books, I want another story about Readis and the dolphins, more stories about the lesser dragons (browns, blues, and...

Re: Pernese Life

I don't really agree with that one. In the books we see several women, Jancis and Menolly in particular, who have both children and fulfilling careers.

Re: Getting to know you...

Well this seems like the place to introduce myself so I suppose I will. I'm Sylvie, I'm a student, and I'm an Anne fan. Or is it a McCaffreak? What do a group of us call ourselves anyway? The Star...

Re: The ship avenged

i recently read The Ship Avenged and found it ... ok. A tad too bloody and gorey, and no brainship to speak of, though it was nice to have a story about Joat who's a pretty fun character. If you...

Re: who are you like?

A mix of Menolly and Debera I suppose. Menolly because I love music and fooling around on the harmonica, and Debera because all I want to do is get out of the house and I'm utterly with my best...

Re: Pernese Life

Agree. And they're so happy because everyone has his or her place in Pernese society. If you don't fit in where you were born, you can always try and make your life better and people will respect you...

Re: Favourite Brawn?

Hmm, no votes for Keff yet. Well he's my favorite. Unlike the other brain/brown teams who all seem to get somewhat romantically involved eventually, he seems to have a great platonic relationship...

Re: Which gift?

I went with Dragonsong since that's the one that started me off in this series and now I'm obsessed. And Dragonflight since it's the first one. I also like the Dragonsdawn idea. It'd give people an...
