I've read War and Peace, though I do admit to skim reading most of the battle scenes. The most irritating thing was that it was pre course reading for a Russian Lit course which I didn't end up...

I remember him from the my very early KT days in the KTL when you didn't have to register. He was great company and I remember well the shock at his passing.

I really like the Lindsey Davis Falco novels. They're set in Rome and around the Empire in the first century AD and concern a private investigator (Falco) and his various cases.
