Was the board recently updated?

At home I have Windows XP and dialup and an older version of Firefox, and this forum was no problem, but after my last posts, when I would try and load threads, the page kept doing the CANNOT FIND...

Re: What is happening

Computer crashes suck. I killed 3 in 2 years or less, so I learned to constantly back up everything. And since I have backups, I haven't had anymore problems. And my belated condolences to Zelandeth...

Re: What is happening

Oh and in my role as Crazy Cat Lady, my 8 cats are, in order of descending age: Little Miss Sunshine, Munchkin, then Hedgehog, Pirate, Misfit, and Fussybritches(all part of the same litter), and...

Re: What is happening

Hope everyone is doing well. This year has been unusual to say the least. Homesteading is not going high on priorities this year. The weather has been crazy, and people have been dropping like flies....

Re: Flock of Geese

Yep, and I liked the little poem that went with it too.

Re: Most memorable quotes

Yeah Freedom's Ransom wasn't that great...it was basically a shopping trip. Though it was nice that they finally got around to what Earth was like after it all.

Re: The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S Lewis

When I got into the series, I read LWW first, then read the others. I think Magician's Nephew was actually the last I read. But once I got my own copies of the whole series, I did tend to read...

Flock of Geese

Of all her short stories, Flock of Geese(and it's 'sequel') were the ones I would have most liked to see become a full book. The time storms were an interesting concept, since they could span the...

Re: The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S Lewis

I don't think they have the brain required for writing their own. I'm getting fed up with all the remakes/reboots lately...not just for TV/movies, but even video games.

Re: New PTB series: as good, better or worse--you decide

Tough for me to decide if I want to read the 2nd trilogy, with no clear majority as to their 'value'. I really liked the original book, the other two in that trilogy were good, but I didn't like the...

Re: The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S Lewis

I have not seen the most current remake of LWW, nor do I intend to. Well I saw a few moments of it at a friend's house once, and it was so not canon that it killed any desire to see it(same with...

Re: Say Hello and Be Welcomed to the Library Café on MoM!

Yeah I can't remember if it was Civ 4 or Civ 5 but the system requirements were extreme, and my brother-in-law had a copy, and didn't recommend it. I'm only up to Civilization 3. I prefer the Civ 2...

Re: Most memorable quotes

My favorite line was in Freedom's Ransom when Kris is thinking about everything they need to buy now that they can safely go to Barevi without needing to be undercover, and she's thinking about how...

Re: Ballybran

Crystal Singers do have to use special contact lenses when they travel to cope with the different brightnesses/colors. I'm not sure if I would want to be a Crystal Singer. I don't want kids so that...

Re: Say Hello and Be Welcomed to the Library Café on MoM!

Greetings all. Always hate having to think of what to say in intro posts. At least when the forum is topic-specific it's easier. First Anne McCaffrey book I read was The White Dragon probably 20years...
