It has been so long for many of these series and yet they still get new fans every year. Makes you want to love them all the more (if that is even possible).

You've forgotten first novel published- Restoree 40yrs, 2008!

Wow what a list thogh!

Re: Anniversary Celebrations Galore!

Actually the Restoree 40th Anniversary would be Sep 2007. I didn't include it, since it's not part of a series, but it is notable as her first novel publication, as you noted!

Also of note is October 2008, the 55th Anniversary of Anne's first publication ever!

eep....
that's a long time.

How could I have got the date wrong for Restoree? (bangs hand)

Cheryl May 21 2007 06:20 AM

Re: Anniversary Celebrations Galore!

Because you were using the date it was first published in the UK, which was after the US publication. For my full list I used the very first publication, whatever the country.

That was some work you did there Cheryl!! Hope your insomnia went away.

I knew there was a reason that I loved Anne so much; The Smallest Dragon Boy was published the year I was born!!

That is quite a list! I haven't read the smallest dragon boy(not for lack of trying to find it!), although i would very much like to!

Re: Anniversary Celebrations Galore!

I believe The Smallest Dragonboy may have been the actual first story of Anne's that I read. Found it in a short story anthology in the library, but I can't recall the name of it.

The smallest Dragon Boy is in the book A Gift of Dragons.

That was Kibbie's first Pern story as well.

Re: Anniversary Celebrations Galore!

Not just in "Gift." :) I saw it in a different book because I've never read that one. The collection I read also contained stories by different authors and they weren't all about dragons.

Re: Anniversary Celebrations Galore!

It's also in Get Off the Unicorn. And in half a zillion other anthologies as well, but those two are the most commonly found sources.

Wow! Great list, Cheryl. :) I was wondering about it...neat how they all end in nice round numbers there.

@ Tresa, Smallest Dragonboy was my first story as well, but I read it in an english book back in 6th or 7th grade.

That was done on purpose Gwina, I picked the year in the upcoming 5 years when each would have a round five anniversary to celebrate.
