Published obituaries for Anne

Not sure how best to do this, but I thought it would be helpful to have one place to post links to published media (as opposed to personal) obituaries to Anne.

So far I've seen one online in the Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2011...?newsfeed=true

And today she made the obituary section of The Times :bouncy: I'm sorry I can't post a link to that, since the online content is by subscription only :( But she has a full two columns in the Saturday print version as a science fiction (NOT a fantasy) writer - I'm sure she'd have been hugely amused and relieved at that ;)

There were definitely two articles in The Guardian.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2011...ffrey-obituary

Also a page on the BBC News

Washington Post.

Re: Published obituaries for Anne

Don't want to be picky, but
Quote:

This was a distant planet settled by humans but threatened regularly by life-destroying "Threads", which fell from a neighbouring planet. To combat these, the humans genetically modified a species of winged reptile, native to Pern, each one of which was bonded symbiotically with a rider from the moment of the human's birth. These dragons then dealt with the global menace against the same kind of daunting odds as were faced by the RAF's "few" when repelling the Luftwaffe in 1940 – a parallel sometimes quoted by McCaffrey, who has died after a stroke aged 85.
Human's birth???

You have to wonder if someone was doing that off a set of wonky Cliff Notes.

Not an obit, but her son Alec posted the eulogy he wrote on Facebook. I think it may be accessible by anyone.
