Elizabeth Kerner website update

There's an update of Elizabeth Kerner's NEWS section on her website.

http://www.elizabethkerner.org/news.html

I'll mention it here because Lanen is much to shy to promote herself :)
That's no problem because I'm her self-appointed professional website promoter ;)

Oh WOW...it's like getting on going letter from you...what a treat!! Glad to read about the singing and how well you did...HURRAY!!!

On your breaks from writing...enjoy your lovely garden, I know how much you love your flowers.

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

Hmmm. I'd better go out with the lawn mower and turn it back into a lovely garden again... ;)

Lanen May 30 2009 01:32 PM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

And he did and it is, thanks love!

I was at the doctor's getting the result of nerve induction tests. I have, apparently, moderate to severe nerve compression, i.e. carpal tunnel syndrome. Options: steroids (which I have rejected), surgery (still thinking about it) or stick with my chiropractor. So far, Gina (friend and chiropractor) wins! She got me from the serious, constant pins-and-needles (with some numbness) stage to fully functional hands. Brilliant woman.

So here are my thanks for your doing the lawn, my darling husband (who is currently learning how to use Finale), It does look great, and the flowers show up so well now! :D

Boy, have I married a sterling soul here or what?

Hans May 31 2009 03:34 AM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

Indeed you have, dear.

But carpal tunnel syndrom could affect your writing... so you better tell Gina to do her utmost and assure here that she has gotten a lot of internet fans overnight :) who put every faith in her!

Lanen Jun 1 2009 07:52 AM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

:D Hans - as it happens, she's a fan too, so it is in her best interests to keep me writing!

Though I will tell her that SHE now has fans. That ought to give her a giggle. :D

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

Hey, anyone who can help you deal with carple tunnle WITHOUT steroids or surgery is a miracle worker in my book, so you can BET I am a fan of hers!

Has she got any tips on DuPuytren's contracture?

Lanen Jun 5 2009 10:13 AM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

No, P'ter, sorry. :(

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

Golly: two apologies in one day.

Never mind: I'm told that piano playing is good for it.

Lanen Jun 8 2009 12:43 PM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

By the way, gang, I told Gina that she now has fans. She laughed a lot. :D

Hans Jun 8 2009 03:15 PM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

She can laugh but she'll soon experience the might of the force of well fans thinking well towards here. She'll be amazed what this online community can accomplish (if they want to) ;)

The force will be with her!

Lanen Jun 9 2009 12:47 PM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

Hans, the force is already with her! :D She's amazing, and is a really truly healer, in this world. That said, she is also physically my vision of Lanen grown up! OK, Lanen doesn't have red hair, but - she's just under 6 ft tall, built strong, very bright, very insightful, very straightforward, and sees things most others don't. Quite a gal, our Gina! :D

Hans Jun 9 2009 03:07 PM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

Physicallly Lanen except for the hair... I want to meet her! :D

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

I think we're gonna need a picture! :D

Lanen Jun 9 2009 06:11 PM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

Hmmm - I'll have to ask her. She is a bit shy of such things. I'll see her on Thursday and find out how she feels about it.

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

A real true in this world Lanen...well for me that has always been you Elizabeth...or at least your alter ego in Kolmar. BUT...like everyone else has said, I would also love to met this fantastic healer of a woman, who can keep you fit and funtioning without steriods or the pain and recovery of surgery.

Glad to hear that your garden is in such lovely shape again...thanks to your dear hubby.

Soooooooo.... how's the writing comming along...a bit easier or are the Kolmar gang being somewhat difficult?

Lanen Jun 16 2009 06:40 PM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

They have been hiding in caves! Argggh.... still, I think I've got a handle on things. Will let you know soon.

The rotters.

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

How DO you get a handle on 'things'?

StevenB Jun 17 2009 05:44 PM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

B&Q sell them.

P'ter Jun 17 2009 06:09 PM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

I know that! So do Homebase, Wigleys, Jewsons, Screwfix, ans many more. But, how do you fix a handle onto the thing?

Does it depend on whether it's a thin thing or a thick thing? 'Cos that could be thinkening.

Lanen Jun 17 2009 07:24 PM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

Personally, I use superglue... ;) :D

P'ter Jun 18 2009 02:08 AM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

Mental picture of street crowd pointing skyward and chanting "Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it's Superglue!"

Hans Jun 18 2009 03:14 AM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

So, P'ter, how do you propose to get that mental picture up on the wall?

P'ter Jun 18 2009 10:12 AM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

Well ......... unfortunately I'd have to use superglue as it's the only thing that'll stick to the padding.

Lanen Jun 24 2009 06:00 AM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

Lanen: if you roll about on the floor like that you'll go red in the face and make yourself sick!

Lanen Jun 24 2009 08:32 PM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

Don't have to do it myself, I have these cute electronic avatars to do it for me. :)

Hans Jun 25 2009 03:30 AM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

avatar: the descent of a deity to the earth in an incarnate form or some manifest shape; the incarnation of a god.

:)

Yeah, I know, but I like this description better :D

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

I was only expressing concern for your well being. :(

Lady Maelin Jun 25 2009 11:34 PM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

Glad to read that you in such great spirits...but whats this about everyone being held up in caves? Oh how the mind wanders with these little jewels of information...LOL

I am also sending you wonderful vibes for a lovely flurish of brainstorming and the whirl of writing from it...don't forget to go out into your garden at least once a day...you need the fresh air...wink!!!

I'd better go and refill the bird feeders...

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

Elizabeth...those memories of your will also be filtered through several of your extremely interesting characters. If nothing else it might be interesting for your firiends and family to try and figure out what part of them you might have used, to give life to some of those self same characters.

Do they always say that writers should write what they know...and it seems that you know your characters...very, very, very well. I love it when they help you write. I have often imagined all sort of images, there with you next to your typewriter. sometimes a rather large lovely dragon is trying to poke his head in the window to see what your doing or offer advice...or some other of your Kolmar clan, coming in to sitting on your desk or making themselves comfy on the floor, sharping a knife, or chewing on something tasty....or taking a quick snooze, as they often do seem to need some rest...with all their aventuring...;)

P.S. When you've put in an especially active day writing...get Steven to treat you to a lovely dinner out. Then you can treat us to reading about something very tasty in the story.

Is it just my bag of bolts, or is there a problem with the site?
All I get is;
No suitable nodes are available to serve your request.

Typical! :)

Hans Jun 29 2009 03:11 AM

Re: Elizabeth Kerner website update

I had that once before and it seems to have to do with server overload.
It was gone when I tried an hour later.

Sorry about that, Baggy, but it's beyond my control. :(
