News from Les Edwards and WorldCon Glasgow

As you know Les Edwards, the cover artist for the latest three Pern books recently made available for download as desktop wallpaper the artwork for Skies of Pern and Dragonsblood on his site www.lesedwards.com

In the course of some email corespondence he told me he will be attending and exhibiting at this year's World SF convention Interaction in Glasgow:

Quote:

I am not on any panels for the World SF, but I will be exhibiting there. McCaffrey fans may like to know that DRAGONSBLOOD original artwork will be exhibited there, along with many other pieces by me and my alter-ego, Edward Miller. Although DRAGONSBLOOD original artwork is sold, I made it a condition that the artwork would be available for exhibition at the World SF Convention in Glasgow. I will be at the Art Show on a regular basis throughout the Convention, either near my work or wandering around looking at the other work in the Art Show. So people should just come up to me and say hello.
You might want to take along your Skies of Pern, Dragonsblood and/or Dragon's Kin to have it signed by Les; and maybe you could go after the authors, too :)

IF I had the space for the wallpaper I'd go for it-my PC is rubbish!

I wouldnt mind having them as posters, can I?

Or the system memory. 350 kb is quite a lot if all you have is 32 MB... Like on the computer I stopped using a year ago.

Re: News from Les Edwards and WorldCon Glasgow

My laptop is at LEAST 4 years old with Pentium 2, too many programs-all necessay especially firewall and virus checker which cause most probs.
It complains about Virtual memory if I try to do 2 things at once-ie. use the internet and listen to the radio, oh and its now complaining about registry size...

My parents have promised to buy me a new one every time the DELL special offers leaflet arrives but they can never agree and its getting stupid now!
the latest was one for £400 odd with DVD rewriter and flat screen monitor... but Dad didnt notice till the offer HAD FINISHED!!!

That is awful Edith  your parents I mean, not the laptop. Bring him to me and I'll give you back a nice smooth working machine! I've got older ones running quite well but there are a few rules to follow :)

All academic if your parents come true on their promise though... and not very practical I'm afraid with me not exactly living nextdoor to you :)

Hang in there and poke your dad!
