It is amazing what they can do today, Leads for hope for tomorrow! My sister is looking at needing another cornea transplant on her other eye, She had the first eye done about 10 years ago and all went very well. her vision in her second eye is down to 20/200 with contacts and glasses. Another family member (brother) has also had one transplant done and is not far from needing his other eye done as well. His was done way back in the mid eighties.

My sister has to have the cataract surgery before they will do the cornea transplant. That is coming up in a week or so. The transplant won't be for at least a year or so after that, if they will do it.

What that makes me think of is the gizmo in The Ship Who Searched that Tia's doctor, the paraplegic, was testing out.
