Artwork of Lady Maelin, official Artist Laureate of MoM

First of all, I hearby proclaim Lady Maelin to be the Artist Laureate of MoM.

Secondly, I thought it was high time to organize links to all the various artwork she has shared with us in one location, as her posts are scattered all over the Exhibit Hall and also the Pern forum. The Gallery does contain almost all of the member portraits she has done (and updating that is on my to do list). But as it is a member portrait gallery it does not include all the other glorious work Lin has posted here.

If you find any artwork I've left out, please point it out!

Edit: WOW!!!!! She is a Master!! Those are incredible. WOW!!!

WHooops...Like I said in that particular thread...I must have deleted *Ruatha Gather *along with a few others when I was cleaning house in my Photobucket account. I have now replaced those that were missing hopefully...and hopefully any others that I might have missed:eek: ....again I'm sorry that they were deleted by mistake!!!

Sandi...Don't worry about having to make yourself a copy...it should be to you by now. SURPRISE!!!!

P.S. It is a rather large copy for your email...so don't worry if it takes a while...let it load up when you have some time...LOL!!!

   I Got It!! Thank you so much. It's wonderful to have a copy "for my very own"! I've thought about copying some of them but it somehow seemed like stealing to me so I never did.:tilt:

YIPEEEEEEEEEEEE you got it... :horsey:

I don't mind in the least, as long as whoever copies them doesn't try to sell them or post them to other sites but only uses them for their own enjoyment...Gee I'm thrilled as I can be, that you and others enjoy them so much as to want a copy of them for your own.

-Finally- -Grins- One place where we can see all the things that've been done.

Lady M, I can really see a difference between your earlier works and your latest ones. They're all amazing, but to be able to see the progression is awesome. ^_^ And to think, I have a Pern Portrait of my own! -Biiiiig grins-

Thank you Sara, I really enjoyed doing yours very much indeed, especially after we got to meet and have so much fun in Copenhagen.

Loved seeing all the pictures again, it's a GREAT thought to put it all into 1 thread Cheryl as I didn't know half of them were even there. Well done once again Lady Maelin (and Cheryl for making us notice the little....and the great...things that go on at M.o.M.).

Re: Artwork of Lady Maelin, official Artist Laureate of MoM

Hurray! It's great to see these all linked from one place. :bouncy: What a fantastic collection. Thank you Lady M for sharing these, and what an honour to be the subject of a portrait (although the portraits you made for Lanen and I at EuroCON aren't in the list).

Steven...If you and Elizabeth want your portraits put up on MoM for everyone to see, then just let me know and I will be happy to do that for you.

Re: Artwork of Lady Maelin, official Artist Laureate of MoM

Lady M, you made a really terrific portrait of me, so I'm happy for you to show it. Your wonderful artwork should be shown to the world.

I love the portraits you made of Lanen too, but as she doesn't like seeing pictures of herself published, I'll leave Lanen to decide if she would like those shown.

Lady Maelin Apr 22 2008 11:12 PM

Re: Artwork of Lady Maelin, official Artist Laureate of MoM

Steven...I am so glad that you both enjoyed the portraits so much:blush: ;) . I will be happy to put yours up Steven....and completely understand about Lanen's choice to keep hers private.

Re: Artwork of Lady Maelin, official Artist Laureate of MoM

My dear Master Maelin - Steven is a dear man, but it's actually *photographs* of myself I don't like! Your portraits make me look wonderful, twenty years younger and (mumble) pounds lighter, bless you! If I get to make a request, it's the one of me in a gather outfit that I really adore!

I can't tell you how honoured I am to have been gifted not one, but two portraits! All unworthy, to be sure. Your artistry is a rare gift, and I thank you yet again for your kindness and generosity in giving me a glimpse of my avatar, in the truest sense -

Blessings!

Love, Lanen

Lanen....Thank you so much for the wonderful compliments about the portriats I did for you:blush:...I truly enjoyed doing yours and Steven's very much indeed...and even more for being able to give them to you both in person. I do have to say that it was definitely one of the highlights of my Copenhagen Adventure, meeting you both.

I will return the compliment to you in the best way I know how.... I have given both my Grand-daughters copies of your first book...and they are reading your *Song in the Silence* right now...they were so excited when I told them, that I knew the author personally:bouncy: Both of them seem to be falling in love :heart:with Lanen and Akor...just like I did.;)

Thank you again for creating such wonderful characters, seems you're gathering whole families of fans:bouncy:

This thread was a great idea! I went back and had a look at them all again.

It's absolutely amazing to think about how much time, effort and love you've spent on us all here Maelin - you truly are a master and more!

Thank you dear Jax:heart:...I was so happy that I was able to draw so many wonderful and interesting friends like yourself.

When I am to old to hold a pencil or brush any longer...I will have my leather notebook to look into and remember when:blush:...and all my lovely friends at MoM.:group::heart:

I will be adding to these portraits again as soon as I can:bouncy:... and for as long as I can still hold that pencil and brush, and MoM exsist....lets hope both are in good working order for a long, long time...;)

*bump*

Cheryl, just wondering if there was more updates to be added as there seems to be more pictures done and I haven't noticed them added here. Lanen, StevenB and D'nic's (Gidget) and "crumbs" forgotten who else, isn't up? I seem to have forgotten who else so maybe someone else can sticky-beak and work it out.

P.s. only thought of it because of Lily saying about Lanen and StevenB when I asked "Who is Elizabeth Kerner?"

And then I forgot to add Lessa's and F'lar's sketches and dare I admit that Lady Maelin did one of la-di-da with a supersize ego , hang on "was that my head exploding?" me :bouncy: Disappearing before someone throws a rock or 2 at me then announces it was actually a boulder that landed on top!

But still, in all honesty, Lady Maelin - you have done exceedingly well in all the pictures that you have done. I'm very proud of your "artistic bent in life" even if I've disagreed with one or 2 pictures. I still reckon you deserve a medal for putting up with your models, imaginary and real.

Thanks GHarris and Talisath, for reminding me to put F'lar up...glad to know you both enjoyed seeing it.

That would be something: to see what you can do when an entire house is your canvas. :D
