One of my most favourite photo of last year's vacation in the US is an arch but not from Arches NP but Mesa Arch in nearby Canyonlands NP:

A year earlier I shot this string of arches (I have many arches photos as they appeal to me) at the ancient city of Pergamom, current bergama, in Turkey. People kindly obliged me by getting out of the picture behind each arch but I did need a little help of my guide (who was far more vocal) until I shouted the "all clear" :)

Like Hans I have hundreds of photos of Arches (my choice of topic), so choosing only two was tough. So I chose one natural and one man made

Gateway Arch, St. Louis, Missouri, USA

It is. At 630 feet (192 meters), it is the tallest monument in the United States. The Statue of Liberty easily fits under it.

At the Gateway Arch in 2003.

The St. Louis Gateway Arch is not only 630 feet high, it's also 630 feet across at the bottom. The way the legs actually taper toward the top adds to the illusion that it's taller than it is.

This pic was taken with a Sony Mavica CD camera, 2.1 megapixel. That's why it's a grainy pic.

How fun to see photos of the St Louis Arch by someone else.

Hmm.. Hans do you think it would be rude of me to just yell "Everyone get out of my picture"? (rhetorical question)
