Kath's 365 Project
8 days in... and I'm realising my photos are crap as often as they're okay. That's going to be my goal - get better, more inpsiring pictures! I think (well, hope!) I'm going to learn a lot about how to get the most out of my camera in the process.

Re: Kath's 365 Project

And that's the end of week 1.

What I've learned so far: I'd get better results if I didn't leave things until late at night...

Re: Kath's 365 Project

Week two begins with an unusual visitor to the bird feeder! Photo taken from a distance of about three feet through the open bathroom window. No flash and a bit of a grey day, and my camera was struggling with the focus a little. Bonus bluetit action in the background, but I didn't have any good shots with both birds in it.

Don't sell yourself short -- these are nice. One of the joys of digital is that it doesn't cost anything to take lots of pictures and pick out the best ones. I usually leave my camera set on continuous fire which is four frames a second. Slow enough to take one frame if I want but ready to take multiples in certain situations. Looking forward to more.

Re: Kath's 365 Project
I like your set so far, some cute kid pictures and interesting objects/abstracts. I especially like the tree shot, the way the movement causes the dim lights to form what looks like netting.

Re: Kath's 365 Project
I like your pics too, the variety is a bonus, not a drain on creativity.

Re: Kath's 365 Project
I love the abstractness of the closeup view, but the reflectivity (or perhaps the specific angle of reflection) isn't as good as it could be.

Re: Kath's 365 Project
I'll be honest - this was in a rush with failing batteries before bedtime!

Re: Kath's 365 Project
Well, a rush with a nice result. Hmm, maybe you work best under pressure? :)

Re: Kath's 365 Project

Bit of a construction theme for yesterday and today. Had fantastic light on the way to the playground and chemist yesterday! Do I need to work on my verticals though?

Today, Jez went to IKEA, and Matthew was a great help with the new EXPEDIT unit... It is a toy drill, naturally...

Re: Kath's 365 Project
Great new additions! The construction silhouette is fantastic, and a very interesting pairing between it and Matthew.

(Ah, the Expedit, I know it well. There's another one in our future once the great room change occurs.)

Re: Kath's 365 Project
Yeah, I knew I was going to get a good shot out of that as soon as we walked down the road. :)

Re: Kath's 365 Project
The crane silhouette shot is great, the bottom left part a shot in itself. I love the workmen silhouettes!

Re: Kath's 365 Project
Got a bit behind with posting (and snapping) while Matt's been ill.

Last one is Matt on the nebuliser - he got a stinking cold with a fever, and the asthma/bronchitis flared right up. Six doctors visits and two trips to the ER at the children's hospital, and we're finally getting back on our feet again. He's pretty good at holding the mask properly in place, although mostly we do it with me holding it while he's sat on my lap. Only another five days to go... assuming he doesn't get ill again. Hopefully not - the salbutamol makes him manic.

Other shots in this post are Daniel-in-a-box, Matt's trains, and the chimney over the road towards sunset.

#21 is fantastic, Kath! :)

Re: Kath's 365 Project
A lot of cute kid pics (I see Daniel has dragons on his pajamas!), and some lovely non-kid ones too. I especially like the new silhouette and the train set pictures. And the tunnel shot (I can never get my focus right on those!) and Matthew's thoughtful look while using the nebulizer.

My favourite is day 10 = his expression is of "Mum, can't you see I've got people to see, places to go to and things to do?"
