A few from a newbie

Hi folks

I have just discovered your forum via a link from the Aeul board. Can't think why I never looked for an AMC forum but there you go.

These shots are from Cape Byron on the NSW north coast, Oz.

Lovely shots, :) In fact, I do have an odd like for lighthouses, the oddness is what the lens of the lighthouse goes backwards for me, I get light from the center and its head outwards, making my "light sensitive' eyes even more 'light blinded' thanks to the removed catract and secondary membrane over the last few years.

I wish I could explain it better, but I had one behind shortly after the lens was taken out, and had one in front, 'longest minute' to stay still'.

Great pictures, analog, especially the first one as the conrast between the white lighthouse and the dark background omes out best in that one.

Not sure about the second one. Dont't get me wrong I think they are all good pics but #2 seems a bit murky which it is because of the weather but that's not what I mean. Can you play around with contrast (some more) with the photo software you use? And it would be nice it the foreground in this case showed more detail, which could probably be done with the shadows/highlight adjustment (if you are using photoshop).

#3: I love this "ray shots", the real situation must have been really spectacular.
and
#4: where these the real colours? Wow. Maybe a little more contrast and saturation so the lines of the respective clouds would stand out just a little more?

That's my crit and with it goes my compliments. It is a real good set. You often see horizons slightly not level in shots like these but I can't fault you on that :) Very good work and nice to have you on board, despite the fact this particular subforum hasn't been very active of late.

Keep clicking!
